Can you write a play in 24 hours?

The Toronto Fringe Festival is gearing up for another year of fun!

One of the events they sponsor is the 24-Hour Playwriting Contest. Being a novel marathoner, I love the idea of writing a play in 24 hours. I have a few 48hour novels under my belt now and my favourite part of novel writing has always been the dialogue. I just wish I had more time on my hands. I’d love to take part in this contest.

Anyway, they are accepting applications from 60 participants. The spots get filled up pretty quickly, so if you are in the Toronto, Ontario area–or plan to be–check out the site today and sign up.

The contest takes place July 2-3. The winning play is presented to the public in a free staged reading on the final night of the festival.

You will see the notification for the contest on their main page. You can click on a link for more information or click on another link for the application.

I would consider entering, but I will be heading up to Huntsville the very next weekend to take part in the MUSKOKA NOVEL MARATHON. I won Best Adult Novel at the marathon last year. I wouldn’t miss another opportunity to spend an entire weekend writing.
