Ontario Writers’ Conference Extends Registration Deadline!

The registration deadline for the Ontario Writers’ Conference was to be March 31, 2008. They have just announced that the registration will remain open. Quite a few of the workshops are filling up fast, but there are still some great ones open. The Friday master classes>> Novel with Rabindranath Maharaj is FULL. Short Story with Sharon English has 3 spots left. Poetry with Barry Dempster has a few spaces open too. (I am taking the Barry Dempster class and cannot wait! His Governor General’s Award nominated BURNING ALPHABET is one of my favourite collections of poetry.)

Also…the amazing Wayson Choy plans to be on hand for most of the conference. He is one of Canada’s most celebrated writers. He’ll be reading Friday night after the Master Classes at an informal meeting of delegates which promises to be one of the hilights of the entire weekend. The master class presenters will also be reading… Dempster reading from Burning Alphabet would be worth the entire weekend.
